Castlevania Legends - Sonia Belmont

Here we have another art from the hatch and this time,the under-appreciated blonde of awesome: Sonia Belmont. 

So Sonia Belmont was meant to be the origin/den-mother of how the Belmonts came to be but near the end of the game,it totally retconned the entire premise and story of Castlevania/Akumajou Dracula completely due to 1. Alucard and Sonia seem to get it on if you know what I meant..you don't? Well,Alucard popped Sonia's boots off? No..Sonia wanted to get into Alucar...

Travis: Ok,moving on. No. 2..The end of the game has Sonia speaking of love which Dracula shrugs off as a joke. Seems legit and fair enough,it's like Souther from the Hokuto no Ken Raoh Gaiden anime when he shrugs off love as a complete joke but well,what can you say about it? No. 3,Sonia gets powers which isn't even accessible to the Belmonts until Castlevania 3racula's curse at the end when Sypha and Trevor fell in love which is the reason how Simon and later on the Belmonts gained mystical powers and Sonia,being the first,shouldn't have. Me: Riiiiiiiiiight. Ok,ask me this Iga? Why do we have games such as Metroid,Tomb Raider,Bayonetta,Dead or Alive,Burning Force,Wonder Momo and the amount of strong-willed women in Super Robot Wars,especially the elusive Ibis Douglas which a lot of people wanted to get on the action in their 'Top 10 females in gaming I want to love' list? All I could say is that was just plain ignorant or just plain sexism..Just REMAKE THE DAMN GAME AND REMOVE DIALOGUE,DARN IT!! ISN'T THAT too hard to ask? Yup,says the guy who made Castlevania into a fighting game...an average one at that I might add. It's 2014 and the Castlevania series seems to take a leap to the God O' War stature I might add. It just seems awkward that a series ranging from a simple sidescroller to a Metroid-style game and sometimes horrendous 3D gameplay and finally to God O' War leaves me thinking...how will it end up after 20 years from now on? Well,the future ain't set in stone but lemme tell ya,Iga leaving Konami is a good thing because it will not only give the person a freedom but it will give him/her the opportunity to do wonderful things. Keiji Inafune left Capcom to bring back the original spirit of Megaman and is now making Mighty No. 9 serves as a sign for Iga to create his own studio and make the retro-style Castlevania we've all been waiting for. 

Soooo what does this have to do with Sonia? Well,I just wanted to say..the game she debuted in may not be game o' the year award but the design of it is awesome because it's anime design just screams the 90's!! How awesome is that? Not only that but also,she is the first Belmont or Vampire hunter to be female,paying tribute to the great Samus Aran,Lara Croft and Bayonetta to name a few strong female leads. I still hoped that Sonia would comeback in a Castlevania game still and hey,it ain't bad. R.I.P Sonia...we'll miss thee and btw,I'm Muslim and there's a cross there but eh,forget it. It doesn't bother me...too much.
